4. How we collect data
We collect data directly from you, automatically through our website and its analytics technologies, from the business or representative on whose behalf you contact us, and from Meta or another social platform when you communicate with an official OlaSilk account and the platform makes that interaction available to us through authorized tools.
5. Why we use personal data
- to respond to inquiries, assess specifications, prepare quotations, support sampling, and manage a potential or existing business relationship;
- to receive and manage Instagram or Facebook comments, mentions, and messages, measure account performance, and publish approved OlaSilk content;
- to deliver requested documents and product-development updates;
- to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website, forms, attribution, content, and buyer experience;
- to prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- to comply with accounting, tax, regulatory, legal, and dispute-resolution obligations.
Depending on the context and applicable law, we rely on steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving a secure B2B service. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
6. Analytics, local storage, and similar technologies
The website uses first-party visitor and session identifiers in local storage. Where configured, we also use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand traffic, performance, navigation, and interaction patterns. These providers may set or read cookies or similar identifiers and process device and usage data under their own terms. You can limit cookies and local storage through your browser settings and can use browser privacy or opt-out controls offered by those providers.
7. Social media and automated assistance
Authorized Meta tools may provide OlaSilk with account insights and interactions addressed to our business account. We use that data to operate the account and respond to business inquiries. Incoming comments, mentions, or direct messages may be processed by an AI service to classify apparent sourcing intent and prepare a draft response. OlaSilk's current workflow requires human review before a drafted social response is sent. We do not use this process to make legal, employment, credit, or similarly significant decisions about you.
8. When we share data
We do not sell personal data. We may share only what is reasonably necessary with:
- hosting, database, file-storage, email-delivery, analytics, security, customer-management, and IT service providers;
- Meta and other social platforms when needed to receive or send an interaction through the platform;
- AI service providers used to classify inbound business intent or draft content, subject to our operational controls;
- professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or authorities when required to protect rights, comply with law, or resolve a dispute;
- a successor organization in connection with a legitimate merger, reorganization, financing, or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Service providers may use the information only to provide their contracted services or as otherwise permitted by their own applicable terms and law.
9. International transfers
OlaSilk is based in China and serves international business customers. Our service providers may process data in China, the United States, the European Economic Area, or other locations. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or additional safeguards, we will use appropriate contractual, organizational, or technical measures.
10. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including active sourcing discussions, customer service, security, recordkeeping, legal claims, and applicable accounting or regulatory requirements. Retention varies by record type and relationship. When data is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it, subject to lawful backup and record-retention needs.
11. Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, restricted production credentials, signature verification for supported platform webhooks, and other reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
12. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal data about you, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Some requests may be limited where retention is required by law or necessary to protect rights and security.
Email hello@olasilk.com with the subject “Privacy Request”, or follow our Data Deletion Instructions.

OlaSilk provides B2B services and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
